My good friend AnnMarie had to bury her sweet husband at the age of 55 this past Saturday. Motorcycle accident on his Harley, the night before the toy run.

I made her a card from my heart...she's one of the sweetest people I know.

On the inside of the front cover, it reads
"Death leaves a heartache no one can heal,
love leaves a memory no one can steal.
~From a headstone in Ireland"

The sentiment to her, I wrote from my heart, privately.

CB script embossing folder, distressed with a sanding block
Organza ribbon
SU cute and curly punch
Distressed edges

It was simple to make but took me what seemed like hours...she's a fantastic friend and his death was reallllly hard on everyone who knew him...and even those who didn't.

Thanks for looking.

I needed a CD gift box (for a prepackaged CD) on the fly so I traced around a piece of white scrap paper...got the dimensions pretty close and cut it out with a craft knife on Christmas CS.

I punched 2 of each 1" and 5/8ths" circles on coordinating paper, punched holes in the centers, and used brads to make the tie ons, then I used MS twine in red/white stripe to wrap around the circles as closure.

I used the same paper for the card (scraps from the cd box), embossed with CB snowflake folder. Punched a 2" cirlce in red, a scalloped circle (QK nesting flowers), stamped with a $1 bin Joanne's 'Warm Holiday Wishes' stamp in colorbox merlot. Adhered with a foamie. Distressed everything in the merlot, added stickles in frosted lace, and distressed 'peeled paint'. Added brads to 3 of the corners and viola, done!
Sorry about the bad pic of the card...too lazy tonight to get out my photo tent.

Thanx for looking.

Merry Christmas!

Just trying out my newly homemade light box. Let me know what you think. Thanks to Carmen for finding a link for me to follow.
Here's a link: http://reneevs.blogspot.com/2008/12/photo-tent.html

Mine's just a box right now with a white sheet. I think it's kind of flimsy tho...

Lace up card album

This is one of the cutest projects my LSS has done and I LOVED it.

This is going on my desk at work. Hope you enjoy. It was a complete kit by Cosmo Cricket.

It has room to hold 3 pictures about 3 inches in size.

I'm happy to report I'm sending out Fabio as my Quickutz Christmas card swap this year. This was a QK exclusive from my LSS, Scrapbook Cottage, that closed last month :-(
(although I'm saving lots of money since that day :-) )

Please remember I'm a HORRIBLE paparazzi...I need to learn how to take better pix of my work. The first one is a scan, the second was with digital cam and flash.
I added a silver star button to the fun fur yarn, but it's already in the envelope, sealed and stamped!

Speaking of stamping, I stamped {decorations and lights with versaMark and embossed with clear powder. Ok...I suck at that too. I need to spend some time experimenting as it didn't show up very well. (I'm thinkin' I shoulda used colored powder)...

Merry Christmas and good night!

Daphne does it again!!

I've learned quite a LOT from Daphne at the two classes I've been to so far.

The cards we made today:

The 1st one we used a SU Snow Roller! LOVED it. Then heat embossed it, stamped the tree and snowman, and embossed the falling snowflakes.

Another very cool technique was that we crumpled and tore a strip of cardstock in 1/2 to look like suede...so many techniques all rolled (literally) into this adorable card!!!

The 2nd one is a shaker box effect:

We stamped snowflakes onto our cardstock with white, added smaller ones and embossed along with the word SPARKLE at the top. I had distressed my cardstock edges and unknowingly, picked up embossing powder...LOVE the effect!
Then, we took a HUGE scallop circle punch and punched a snowflake in the center. Then glued down some transparancy, put a circle of adhesive foam around the snowflake, added glitter, an added another piece of transparancy on top. Added adhesive to the transparancy and laid it in our desired location on the stamped/embossed cardstock. Then added an SU tab punched in silver for the ornament holder. I'm thinking of punching a hole in that and adding a ribbon, as if it would be hung from a tree.

So sorry for the lousy paparazzi...but I'm trying to take an actual pic instead of scanning. I took these pics on my porch around 2pm. They look ok...(but I better clean my porch!!!)

THanks for looking!
